Beer Hawk have pulled together a excellent advent calendar to countdown to Christmas. The most incredible thing they have done is create a very intelligently designed box. The box is quite big but with bright, festive colours it would look good with your other Christmas decorations. When opening the first door you notice that not all the numbers are on the top of box, you pull out a 330ml can and examine the box further, you discover that the cans are sitting on the rest of the calendar which are the bottles lying on their sides. Not only do you discover a very smart box, but that Beer Hawk have thought of everything. Instead of opening the door to a joke or fact you find that the reverse of the door gives you a short write up of the beer inside (and you can use the door as little coasters). As a beer lover, this extra drop of information can help you find a new brewery or beer and is very well thought out. Not to mention the amazing beer inside.

Everything about the Virgin Wines Advent Calendar is huge. The box takes up a whole room, it towers above everything else, and you could replace your Christmas tree with this behemoth. It is also packed with big flavours, 24 different (small) bottles of wine to fill you with festive cheer on the lead up to Christmas.
Virgin Wines have clearly put a huge amount of effort into their calendar, replacing 21 wines with the highest rated wines on their site. Their website is by far the best of any advent calendar site, showing a bisection of the wine box and a daily digital wine tasting experience.

I place advent calendar in quotation marks as I am not sure how anyone who gets a advent selection box can resist eating all of them in one sitting!
It arrives in a simple but beautifully designed box with 25 festive handmade to order chocolates. You can certainly taste the difference with these and they are worth every penny, in fact, it is a bargin at £23.50, less than £1 per choc. Chococo have hit the mark with these chocolates and it would be next to impossible to share around the office!

It then takes a turn away from chocolates with 3 mini bottles of flavoured Baileys which puts the calendar firmly in the realm of adult advent calendar.

The biscuit is delicious, it has such a unique texture and stays fresh for over a month from leaving the kitchen. The icing on top, as well and being amazing to look at, complements the biscuit underneath perfectly. At £55 it could be said to be a bit pricey, but once you taste the handmade and hand decorated biscuits you understand why you can spend this type of money at The Biscuiteers, and keep coming back year after year.
