Monaco opens One Monte Carlo Conference Centre
The highly contemporary One Monte Carlo Conference Centre has just opened between Monaco’s mythical Place du Casino and a new luxury shopping district.
The centre is located below part of the luxurious One Monte Carlo development, which was inaugurated in the presence of Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco in February 2019. Light wells between the residential buildings allow daylight to flood into the underground venue.
A hub for business tourism
With this new conference centre, Monaco continues its eternal metamorphosis. The One Monte Carlo Conference Centre, with its surface area of 1,455 square metres, almost doubles the space available for business tourism in the Monte Carlo district. Until now, this space consisted of the Hotel de Paris, next to the famous casino, the nearby Hotel Hermitage and the Auditorium Prince Rainier III, whose entrance stands in the tunnel Formula One Grand Prix drivers race through each year.
Monte Carlo is a favoured hunting ground for affluent people seeking property for sale in Fontvieille, where another conference centre is located, the parks make it a more family-friendly alternative. The One Monte Carlo Conference centre provides a new venue for businesses wishing to surprise and delight their guests with a truly unique setting and an array of legendary five-star hotels and high-end dining options within walking distance.
Nine venues
The nine rooms of the One Monte Carlo Conference Centre will host a wide spectrum of events, including exhibitions, conventions, product launches, seminars and cocktail parties. Their names reference the two entertainment and exhibition venues that stood above ground in the same location in different eras: the Palais des Beaux-Arts (1892-1928) and Sporting d’Hiver (1930-2014).
The Salle des Arts is a 301-square-metre conference room whose decor replicates the room of the same name that was once part of the Sporting d’Hiver. Its Art Deco-style interior can accommodate up to 300 people.
Next to this room, the Salle Jean Cocteau offers 178 square metres of event space. Up to 80 people can be seated in the beautifully designed auditorium, while the 500 square metres of the lobby can be used for a variety of purposes. Three other rooms – Maria Callas, Rossini and Arman – have surface areas of 500 square metres and can be partitioned.
A two-ton capacity service lift able to transport cars for exhibitions or launches is just one of the many facilities available to clients of the One Monte Carlo Conference Centre.
Everything accessible on foot
Future clients will no doubt appreciate not having to take shuttles between the One Monte Carlo Conference Centre and restaurants, hotels and entertainment venues, many of which are concentrated around the neighbouring Casino Square.
Notable among them is the recently renovated Hotel de Paris, with its 209 rooms and suites, bar and three restaurants, including the three-Michelin-starred Louis XV – Alain Ducasse and Le Grill. The latter, which has one Michelin star, stands on the top floor and features a retractable roof, which opens in summer to offer al fresco dining. In the new Omer restaurant, which opens onto a garden, visitors can expect a culinary journey through the entire Mediterranean region.
The Hotel Hermitage offers a further 278 rooms and suites, a bar and another Michel-starred restaurant, Le Vistamar.
With this new conference centre, Monaco has also taken care to pursue its commitment to sustainable development. Not only will businesses be able to reduce the carbon footprint of meetings and events by taking advantage of the neighbouring restaurants, hotels and entertainment venue, the One Monte Carlo Conference Centre has been certified by BREEAM, the leading international method for certifying building sustainability.
